He was the son of John and Alice Wellington, and had 5 brothers and sisters. His WW1 draft registration lists him as a farmer.
Wellington's group includes his officially engraved WIA un-numbered slot brooch Purple Heart with its presentation box as issued October 11, 1944, plus a copy of his award card. Also included is a photo of his grave in the Watertown Township Cemetery in Fostoria, Michigan that was found on findagrave.com.
