This is a nice group to AMM2C Warner Lee Taylor who was in the regular Navy. Warner was born June 30, 1916 in Virginia and died in Tennessee on July 2, 1994. The group includes his 1940 dated Good Conduct medal with its transmittal document. The other medals are Victory medal, Asiatic/Pacific medal, American Campaign medal, and American Defense medal, and ribbon bars. His Jan. 1942 dated dogtags on original chain, and his sterling silver ID bracelet accompany the group. The campaign medal boxes are included.

An interesting part of the group is a dark blue piece of wool cloth with an applied white star. The star is about 6 inches across and has "USS Guadalupe" stamped in black ink on the star. The Guadalupe, AO-32, was an oiler that was launched in 1941 and spent the entire war in the Pacific theater servicing the fighting ships. It appears that Taylor was an AMM2C in his first tour in the regular Navy from 1936 to 1940. His rating during the war is not known, except it is believed that he was a reservist during WW2 serving on the Guadalupe.
