Charles Leonard Schoeck was born in Emporia, Kansas on May 17, 1898 to his parents Harvey and Melissa. He enlisted in the Army on August 5, 1917; so he did not wait for the draft. He was gassed during the war and was discharged May 13, 1919. He is shown as a barber in later life, married to his wife, Viola. He died May 16, 1972 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
