Daniel M. Robbins was one of three brothers who served in WW2. He was born January 18, 1915. His other brothers were MM3c Greeley H. Robbins, born 1919, KIA when USS Chicago, CA-29 was sunk January 30, 1943, and Sgt. Irvin L. Robbins, 4th Air Force, born 1921. All were born to Charles and Laura Robbins of Armada, Nebraska. See the other writeups for the two brothers.

Not much is known about Daniel's service except what can be gleaned from the artifacts in the group. Data from Acestry.com lists his enlistment date as May 1, 1943 and his discharge as January 1, 1946. Other information indicates that he may been  enlisted first with a rate on MM1c. His photo that is part of the group shows him to be an officer.  The photo is backed with plywood as are all photos in this 3 brothers group. Accompanying the group are his officer's hat badge, engineer shoulder boards, uniform buttons, and other CB and engineer insignia.

Daniel's medal group consists of an Asiatic/Pacific Campaign medal with ribbon, Victory medal ribbon, and ribbon bar with Asitic/Pacific bar, American Campaign bar, and Philippine Liberation bar with star. Also included is a Presidential Unit Citation bar (no explanation) and a post-war engineering medal.
