Junior Reese was born October 6, 1925. He enlisted January 10, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was assigned as a replacement to the 21st Infantry Regiment which was assigned to the 24th Hawaiian Division.
The 24th Division was deeply involved in the Mindanao campaign and the taking of Davao City. That campaign cost the 24th Division 350 dead and 1615 wounded. Reese was among those casualties. He is listed as DOW, which indicates that he may have been evacuated before he died.
PFC Reese's group includes his officially engraved slot brooch posthumous Purple Heart with presentation box. Also included is internet research and a photo of Reese's grave stone.
