Joseph Edward Nash was born September 21, 1896. He enlisted July 16, 1917 and was discharged September 30, 1919. He died March 23, 1970. This is his World War One Purple Heart group that consists of Lt Nash's officially engraved WW1 BBB Purple Heart edge numbered 1465, five bar WW1 Victory medal with 5 campaign bars, Mexican Border medal edge numbered 19318, medal bars, New York State Conspicuous Gallantry medal (with its presentation box) numbered 6922 and inscribed "J.E. Nash", and 1925 VFW medal drape, ribbon and nametag. Included also is his WW1 Purple Heart award card and some payroll copies obtained from St.Louis. Lt Nash was wounded in action October 9, 1918 and was awarded the Purple Heart on May 10, 1932. As of March, 2014, this group has moved on to another collector.
