Private Albert F. Millette enlisted from his hometown of New Haven, CT on Jan, 21, 1944 at the age of 30. His newspaper death notice that is part of this group states that he had 5 children.

Private Millette was a victim of the fighting during the Battle of the Bulge. The 2nd Infantry was approaching the town of Berdorf. Company C lost 32 men in fighting between Dec. 22 and 28 when the town was neutralized. Private Millette was seriously wounded Christmas day and died a week later. The 5th Division was part of Patton's 3rd Army.

The group includes Private Millette's officially engraved slot brooch pothumous Purple Heart with its presentation case, Victory Medal, ribbon bars. pistol sharpshooter medal, original newspaper article, original telegram and letter to the man's mother, and patch.
