SSML 3C Francis Fields is listed as KIA/MIA on May 4, 1945. This was the Okinawa campaign during which the USS Luce DD 522 and USS Morrison DD 560 were sunk the same day. Both ships were on radar picket duty and were attacked and sunk by kamikazis. Fields was on the USS Luce
