Tec4 Kenneth Dickson died of wounds on October 27, 1944 near Meijel, Holland. He was one of 76 in that Battalion to die. The 27th of October was when the Germans launched a major counter-attack against the position held by the 17th Tank. Bn. The after action report for that date is very detailed about the events that day, but there is no indication about casualties. This after action report is part of this group. The casualties for the 17th Tank Battilion had been found at http://members.aol.com/dadswar/17deaths.htm , until aol shut down the site. I have an alphabetical list of the first 20 names on that list.
The group includes Dickson's posthumous officially engraved slot brooch Purple Heart and the presentaion case. The heart is edge numbered 479611.
