Roy Brickner was born March 3, 1893 in Pennsylvania and died January 16, 1958 in California. He is buried in San Diego's Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Plot R, Lot 111. He enlisted in the Navy in 1914 and retired December 1, 1939; then was released from service on February 18, 1944. 1920 census data showe Roy and his shipmates are shown as being in the Navy.Census data shows that Roy was married to his wife, Leatha J. Brickner.
No records for Brickner show up on the Ancestry.com Navy Muster Rolls. He was in the Navy during WW1. He was on the USS Kidder, DD-319 when he received his engraved Good Conduct medal dated November 17, 1922, after 8 years of service. His second GCM is shown by a bar engraved "USS Kidder #319" on the front and "C.S.C. 52282 17 nOV. 1926". Another bar on the Good Conduct medal is engraved "1932" on the front, and "Roy Brickner" on the reverse.
