Gordon Stevenson Owens was found in the Ancestry Navy Muster Rolls. His birth and death date can be surmised based on other Ancestry information as born June 24, 1912 and died January 27, 1991. Muster Rolls show Owens on the USS Dahlgren in 1941, then minesweeper USS YMS-30 in 1942, and on the USS Colonial, LSD-18 in 1947 and 1949. The YMS-30 was sunk at Anzio in 1944. It is not known if Owens was on board at that time. Owens was probably a YMS-30 plankowner.

The mounted medal group includes Owens' named and dated Good Conduct medal with 2 stars, American Defense medal with Fleet bar, European Campaign medal with 2 stars, and WW2 Victory medal. If the interpretation of Ancestry data is correct, Owens probably enlisted in 1932 and was discharged July 31, 1962.
