Perry Seibel Nelson, son of Albert and Maud Nelson, was born May 3, 1903 in the Chicago area and died August 31, 1994 in San Diego at age 91. He was married to his wife, Elizabeth who was 3 years his senior. Nelson must have first enlisted in 1922 at about age 18. No records have been found of his service up to 1943. Muster Rolls on Ancestry show him on the USS Aristeous, ARB-1, a repair ship that operated in the Pacific during WW2. Nelson is shown attached to that ship from May 18, 1943 through September, 1944. He is shown on the USS Perkins, DD-877, December 31, 1948. His rate on the Aristeous is shown as Pharmacist Mate 1st Class, then HMC on the Perkins. Nelson had China service aboard the Perkins after WW2. He may have had China service in the 1930's.

CHM Nelson's medal group is bar mounted and consists of his named, dated 1926, Navy Good Conduct Medal with 3 stars, Asiatic/Pacific Campaign Medal with one star, WW2 Victory Medal, Navy China Service Medal, and Navy Occupation Medal.
