Theodore Eich was born in Mississippi on March 19, 1899, and died in Woodbridge, New Jersey on March 19, 1977. He is buried next to his wife, Thelma in the Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Findagrave.com has a picture of his gravestone. His obituary (copy below) was in the Woodbridge, NJ News Tribune on March 22, 1977. According to this article, Eich served in WW2 also. His WW2 NARA data shows that he enlisted November 16, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey and was assigned serial number 32590921.

Theodore Eich is cited in 1st Division GO 67 of August 13, 1919 for gallantry in the Meuse Argonne campaign as follows: "Near Exermont, France, Oct. 7, 1918, displayed courage after remainder of gun crew had been evacuated, by personally taking the gun and keeping a continuous fire on the enemy."

Cpl. Eich's group includes his split brooch officially engraved Bailey, Banks and Biddle Silver Star edge numbered 4264 with its ribbon bar, five bar WW1 Victory medal with 5 star ribbon bar, French Croix de Guerre with star, WW1 New Jersey Victory medal, split brooch 1st Division medal, bronze discharge button, and a 1st Division "20th Anniverary Homecoming New York City September 20-23 1937" badge made by Whitehead and Hoag. Also included are copies of Eich's award cards for the Silver Star, dated April 18, 1933 and French fourragere dated June 13, 1929.
